New Employee Welcome (N.E.W.)
The Government of the U.S. Virgin Islands’ (GVI) New Employee Welcome (N.E.W.) session formally receives new members to the GVI team before they officially begin work at their respective Executive Branch agencies and empowers them with knowledge of various employee benefits, programs, and resources as well as general expectations. New employees will receive an overview of the GVI’s organizational structure, personnel policies, benefits, career development opportunities, and employee programs and resources. This full-day N.E.W. session also includes the GVI’s Sexual Harassment Prevention training, which equips employees with the knowledge and tools to help foster a respectful working environment free of sexually inappropriate behavior, sexual harassment, and other forms of harassment.
Who Should Attend: Individuals newly hired to work within the Executive Branch of the Government of the U.S. Virgin Islands (GVI) must attend New Employee Welcome (N.E.W.) session before reporting to their department/agency.
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Dates & Locations: New Employee Welcome (N.E.W.) sessions are conducted every two (2) weeks at the beginning of a pay cycle – usually on Monday (or on Tuesday if the Monday is on a holiday observed by the GVI) – at the Division of Personnel on both St. Thomas and St. Croix.
