The Classification Plan

The Classification Plan which is an integrated part of the Personnel Merit System consist of over 1800 distinct titles that outline the duties and responsibilities and the minimuium qualifications for each position in government.

Currently, we have above 300 job specifications online and anticipate having all 1800 online by the end of 2006.  So please check back often to see when the specification that you hold or is interested in is available.

Remember, if it is not online you may still obtain a copy from either one of our offices.

Health Insurance Open Enrollment Begins on Monday
Kenneth L. Hermon, Jr. PHR, IPMA-CP, the Director of Personnel and the GESC/Health Insurance Board of Trustees would like to advise all participants in the Government’s Group Insurance Program of the Open Enrollment period which begins on Monday, August 16, 2010 and concludes on Friday, September 17, 2010. Open Enrollment is an opportunity for covered retirees and employees to make benefit changes, add or remove dependents, and/or increase their supplemental life insurance coverage.

Rules and Regulations for Participation of Eligible Non-Profit Corporations
The Virgin Islands Health Insurance Board of Trustees have promulgated rules and regulations implementing the provisions of Section 3 of Act No. 6645, which provides that persons employed by a non-profit corporation that is annually funded 75% or more by federal or Virgin Islands Government funds shall be eligible to participate in the group health insurance plan of the Government of the Virgin Islands.
