A Celebration

A Celebration

Each and every day, public servants face unique challenges in the workplace. While the need for vital government services continues to grow, we increasingly ask our public servants to do more with less. Public Servants perform a myriad of tasks that we may all take for granted every day. They provide essential services and benefits including disease prevention, health care, public safety and security, securing our waters, providing education care and so much more.

Public Service Recognition Week is an appropriate time for us to applaud their efforts and to reflect on the value of public service, and give our civil servants the praise that so many richly deserve, but so seldom receive. They deserve our support and appreciation. With sincere gratitude for their important contributions and sacrifice, for putting service before self, we take this week to say THANK YOU.

Do you want to continue tracking your steps?

Although the 8 week program has come to an end and the central government’s Cornerstone Fitness site is no longer active, Director Hermon is encouraging employees (old and new) who are interested in continuing to keep track of their steps, that they can register and participate in the very same manner by joining the University of the Virgin Islands/V.I. Port Authority’s current group that will be active well into the month of April. In order to do so, employees must create new profiles by clicking on the “self-registration” tab on the left side of the home page. Prior participants can use their same pedometer and new employees will have to purchase their own from a retailer of their choice, as the DOP has long exhausted its supply. Interested employees can register at the following link:
